Welcome!

Thank you for your interest in continuing to build your clinical skills.  Our clients deserve the very best that we can offer them  and helping you to acquire a strong foundation in the use of clinical hypnosis will elevate your practice to the next level! I have often thought that if I could not use my skills as a hypnotherapist in my counseling work, that I might feel the need to change careers. Hypnotherapy has, without question, been a powerful and successful tool in my counselor toolbox.  I have compiled over 40,000 hours of direct client contact in my private practice and the vast majority of these hours have included the use of hypnotherapy.

As a counselor educator, I am constantly telling my students that even in the first days of their practicum and internship work, they will be encountering clients who have trauma and abuse at the core of their presenting problems.  The leading authorities in the field of traumatic studies are united in their insistence that "talk is not enough" when it comes to resolving these deeper issues.  Clients consistently seek out my services specifically because of my experience in the use of clinical hypnosis. They are not satisfied to learn coping skills and they know from previous counseling experiences that an intellectual understanding of thinking errors and irrational beliefs does not free them from the grips of paralyzing anxiety, overwhelming depression, and a litany of related symptoms and subsequent unhealthy relationship patterns.  Clients are expecting more and rightfully demanding therapeutic approaches that bring powerful results in a reasonable period of time.  A strong foundation in the use of clinical hypnosis will assure you are prepared to meet those needs.

Because the practice of hypnotherapy is largely unregulated in almost every state, the field of hypnosis training has often been populated with schools and instructors who have little if any education and certainly no licensure in the field of mental health.  The requirements for taking part in their trainings are solely that you are able to pay the required course fees.

I am proud to limit the training offered here to licensed mental health professionals and those students in good standing who are enrolled in university programs leading to such licensure. While counselors in training may begin to apply the skills learned in this training in their internship settings, they will not apply for certification as a hypnotherapist with my recommendation until state licensure has been granted.
